NYC Bootcamp Review | | I wanted to put my initial impressions post bootcamp of my weekend learning the Dicarlo Declassified Drills. I intend to continue adding thoughts to this as the impact of this weekend becomes even clearer.
You know what I liked about this bootcamp? It single handedly rendered all potential future bootcamps with competitors, pointless. Yes, in my opinion, it is that good. Now it is not perfect, but lets start with the positive. No actually lets answer, as best I can without overstepping what I can reveal, what you will be learning. See, when I signed up, I had a question that I think anyone would have: What exactly are we drilling. There is another review that describes it in the context of the Karate Kid and Mr. Miyagi and his wax on, wax off method of teaching Daniel karate. That makes sense. But I want to make it a little clearer. See, Vin doesn’t have a method in the sense that other competitors do. There really are no structures or actual tools. What there is, is the breakdown of what it is to be at your core, a man that is attractive to women, and how that man interacts and deals with relationships with women. The drills in my mind represent waypoints in pick up, dating and relationship management and serve as a means of internalizing basic behaviors and thought processes of an attractive man. Once internalized, these basic, behaviors that correspond to specific waypoints will expand naturally outside their actual limits, if you practice them enough, to positively impact tangent parts of your personality. Soon, you will be bringing out more and more of the parts of who you are that naturally attracts women and people in general, really, and losing bad habits that make you less attractive. The drills are simple, yet surprisingly deep and interconnected in ways you will only figure out, in the days following the bootcamp.
What was positive about the bootcamp first, was the instructors. I will refer you to the review by Pick Up Professor, who was at my bootcamp, because what he wrote sums up everything I would have said. The format is definitely a plus. I had actually taken a competitor’s bootcamp last year and it had the standard lecture-nightgame format. I found it difficult assimilate all that theory and then actually know how to apply it when I went out. With the drills, I now feel like, I know, everything it takes to meet, attract and close a woman. I have actually executed it all through the drills, and so when situations occur when I am out meeting women, I know what to do and can respond naturally and correctly. Also a plus is the amount of work that is involved. For the price of this bootcamp, I wanted it to be a lot of work and it was. We drilled for over 15 hours over the course of 3 days and spent almost as much in the field. Now that is in part, because we were given the opportunity to do daygame with the instructors. Normally, daygame is not included, so the fact that it was, is a testament to how much the instructors care about helping the students learn. It is also something I would suggest to them that they make a part of the bootcamp in the future, as guys like me, who are in their mid thirties, are more inclined to want to meet women in day situations, I believe, than at clubs or bars. The physical escalation (I hate the word kino) drills and conversation drills were both excellent and really broke down the importance of these two areas to connecting with the woman you are interested in. .
On the negative side, we didn’t cover follow up game, like texting and the phone. There is, however, a YouTube video of Vin and Julian teaching it, so you can get it there instead. It would have been useful to drill on storytelling and roleplaying.
All in all, I say if you are considering a bootcamp, this is the one to chose. |
