Real World example of dominance. Had to visit my accountants drop off time cards for payroll. Small parking lot and some a$$hole in a jacked up show type pick up takes up 3 stalls. Doesn't want anyone parking beside him. Walk into the accounts office and see a little guy who you can tell thinks he's the coolest guy on the planet. Tats on the arm goof ball trying way to hard to be tough and cool!
Me: hey buddy that your F350 out front (big friendly smile)
Guy: ya, wanna buy it? (tone like hes got the coolest truck on the planet)
Me: Nope......Learn to park straight (still smiling and with a little laugh your a joke buddy)
Guy says something, all hyper "oh you like that" or something of that nature.
Me: people who can't drive really impress me.. (very sarcastic still being aloof but friendly--like I think he's a joke.)
Guy goes to his truck backs out and sees my getting into mine. Guy starts driving really dead crawl slow, so it makes me wait to back out. Guess he thought I was in a real hurry or something. I leave my car running if I'll only be a second or two. So I look over at him and just laugh like its the funniest thing I have seen that day....... Guy sped up and left!!!
If his cocky I drive the coolest truck so I'm cool with tats attitude was real. He would have stood up to me more. Instead he was a little pussy. If he would have challenged more--- the outcome would have been the same. Cause my demeanor was of no fear. Same reason most Cops end up taking a more aggressive verbal tone with me. They don't scare or intimidate me one bit.... Calm, casual, aloof and friendly warmth during aggressive encounters usually shows tough guys your more dominant! Same thing with hot Women......... When a Cop raises his voice I've won and if they swear I have total victory!!! Had one tell me he could arrest me. "guess they don't teach section 1983 at the police academy!" haha, your a funny little cop, but I'm not only funnier---I'm better than you! Their training is to always stay in control and being dominant in their dealings. They use simular escalation methods as pick up... Its really a reverse mind game being dominant and alpha male!  |
