Default Anxiety and the Hulk

Hey,

For the past couple of years I have been struggling with my inner game and dying of approach anxiety. However, yesterday I did something strange.

I was at the bookshop when this woman walked by and as she walked by, I felt my heart sink as I realised that it was going to be an up hill struggle just to getting to just approaching, yet alone speaking. However, she was as close perfect visually as I could percieve and I realised that women like that are rare and at night clubs would be next to impossible to speak to.

So with my heart in hand, I approached with all the energy I could and when I was within visible distance, my anxiety went into overdrive. Now normally, I just say - forget it but I was too close and just knew I would regret it. So I stopped there right where I was. Within a space of 5 minutes - my anxiety levels were not only back to normal but it seems my anxiety had now transformed itself into motivation. It was then that I realised that I really don't want to rid myself of my anxiety but have it under control. I look at it like the David-Banner effect.

David Banner (Mr. Incredible Hulk) has the inner hulk within and while he struggles to quel and destroy his Hulk. What he fails to realise is that the Hulk is a part of him for a reason and only seems to emerge when it's most beneficial and rather than try to destroy it, should have sought a course in anger management so that he is in control of his inner Hulk and not vise versa. I believe that this what I have discovered.

I would be interested to hear/read your thoughts.

It's like you're redirecting that energy. I see what you're saying.
