Lightbulb EMDR Therapy (Question for Vin.)

This question is aimed at Vin but if anyone knows about it, your response would be appreciated. I read Dating Diablo and Vin says that EMDR Therapy is a great way of fixing serious identity/inner game. I'm seriously considering this Therapy (I want to work on General Confidence, Shyness, Self-Esteem, General Happyness, and Confidence with Women) and was wondering how well this really works. From what I understand this is a powerful tool that will help work on these issues, but I've tried many things (such as hypnosis, subliminals, tapping) and they haven't helped me. Is this finally a solution to my problems ? Can it do everything promised on this website; EMDR Therapy ? I really want to get this part of my life handled, so any insight into this therapy will help greatly.

To help inner game, in order of effectiveness is:

1. Taking action and getting success
2. Taking action and failing, but reflecting on how you could have done better
3. Surround yourself with people who are have the skill you want
4. neurofeedback
5. EMDR
6. NLP, hypnosis, etc.
7. Read a bunch of stuff online
8. Do nothing

Oh and by the way, NO inner game therapy alone will get you the results people talk about in the reviews... you need training and fieldwork for that. you can't just "fix your inner game" and get good at something.

Wow dude, you really are a Genius. I Appreciate the reply, and I realize that doing something (Even if you fail) is better than doing nothing. My main problem is that in all honesty, I'm scared to even try. I wanted to use the EMDR therapy as sort of a jump-start for me to get over that first hurdle of fears and shyness. Hopefully that will really help me.

It's not a phase - that list is not a series of phases meant to be "done in order". It is a list of the different things you CAN do, with the most effective at the top and the least effective at the bottom.

When making recommendations, I really urge people to only do the first 3 or 4 items, and if they are still struggling with that, and it makes sense with their personalities I will recommend the other things on the list. and no I never recommend a person "does nothing"

...Also, I would try Neurofeedback, but from what I Understand it's very costly. Are there and affordable NF Options ?

And @ Gambler, it's all good man, as long as everyone gets the info they need I'm happy. It sounds to me you have general depression, and it may or may not have anything to do with women. But you're absolutely right about women not being the key to happiness. Remember: If your happiness ever comes from others, it's not true happiness. Maybe someone on these boards has a surefire way to cure depression.

Which brings up another question, Can EMDR Therapy make you Happy ?
(Ya' like how I tied that in, huh =P, but that's a serious question.)

This may be slightly off topic but, has anyone else drawn the distinction that I have - that being this

1) That most guys get so involved in reading knowledge in a vacuum, that they almost learn stuff to handcuff themselves i.e "approach anxiety"

They def make things way more complicated than they need be - Pickup is simple!

Blah! Blah! Blah!

Excuses. Excuses. Excuses!

I know what it's like to be in your position, guys. One day I just told myself I would go out there and do something about it.

Why don't you guys go out there and be successful or get rejected?

I know I am.

I don't think there was any malice in rarebreed's point. I just think there comes a point with everyone that commits to learning game where the penny drops (not sure if Yanks use that idiom) and you decide "I'm gonna get out and get rejected. Fuck it. If things go well, then that's fine. If I fuck up, that's fine. At least I'm doing something about it". For all those sat at home with AA, I came into game as a nerdy virgin, with no social circle and no social skills. I got so fed up with KJing that I just went out and decided to get those sets in regardless of how well I did. Just get out there and do it, bros. Nothing to lose but your ego.

I remember when Brian gave me some tough love. Man was I pissed off, but I didn't see the message he was trying to convey to me. I just easily got offended because somewhere in his post I noticed some truths about me that I was trying to deny.
