Under the Radar Vs Working the Room

Hey guys,
Recent SP of mine. I've been trying to change my style to a more under the radar, low energy, smooth vibe recently (ie what I imagine most of the guys here do). A couple of months back, I wouldn't do "sets" I'd just hit the club and talk to as many people as I could. This put me in a fun, talkative state (I guess it's what Sebastian describes in "Lo-tech solutions for smart people") and I felt like I was doing OK with it.

Now, when I just go for the sets that I'm interested in, nothing seems to work. It's not as fun as it used to be and I don't feel like I'm going anywhere. I honestly thought this would make my nights out more efficient. Is working the room a crutch I'm relying on? Is there a hole in my game that I'm filling with chatting the entire club? What can I shift my attention too that wouldn't necessitate this sort of behaviour? Any comments would be appreciated. Best,

Dude, this is wierd.. I'm on the other side of the scale. When i'm out i usually go for the girl i like. Going direct for the girl i like, even if she's with a bunch of people. And i want to be more like working the room type of guy..

Too bad we don't live in close too each other, beacuse then you could teach me, and i could teach you...

You said you aren't having as much fun when you don't work the room. Now when you talk to the group/girl you are interested in, it doesn't work as well. I think that since you aren't having fun anymore, you are getting less success as a result. Girls can smell your state a mile, no wait, 100 miles away. They sort of have a radar built in. You need to find a way to make going and talking to that one girl fun and interesting. I am a work the room sort of guy myself, but when I started seeing the greatest success, where it doesn't matter if I am working the room or one person, is that I AM ACTUALLY A PERSON TALKING TO ANOTHER AND HAVING FUN GETTING TO KNOW THEM. BE REAL, BE YOUR ATTRACTIVE SELF. The pickup community in general has a terrible way of creating a calculating social robot (not Vin), which makes you worse with women than you would have been just going up and saying "hi".
Here is what I do, when I see that one girl I just have to talk to. First I imagine her to be everything that I want in a woman, smart, beautiful, charismatic, social. Well, now that I think that, I HAVE TO GO FIND OUT IF ITS TRUE, RIGHT! And it turns out to be fun figuring out if I was right or not, and when she does turn out to be some or all of those things, it makes me excited, and she sees that, problem solved. I am now having fun, and my state transfers to her and her group. Be nice to her friends, as they are your own, and you are good...don't forget to kino!!!
