| I've done public speaking, I'm into magic, I pick up, I talk to people, etc. and the thing that always works. It's the best thing you can ever do... Is to meet their eyes and hold the eye contact.. once you meet their eyes, it get comfortable. You'll gesture comfortably and such. In Acting you don't meet eye contact with the audience unless you're speaking to them and such but when they see your eyes, they see soul. They see life into your character. Speak from you diagphram. It's the below the center of your body. If you want to find it, before you sleep and you're laying down, be aware of you're breathing and see where you belly rises. That's your diagphram. The focus is not on what you say, why? Well because what you say is allready given. They all know you prepared something to say. Now, it's about how you present it. Like in Acting. Lines, Lines are the the tip of the iceberg... Underneath it there's subtext, meaning, tonality, and such. That's why what you say is not focused on. Body Language. Eye contact, Vocal Variety(tonality) and rate(speeds meaning fast or slow). You want to MATCH you're gestures, say for instance you hand gestures with you're words. For instance... a Military Commander is addressing his squad. He wants to say "This is the U-S-A Marines." When her says "U-S-A." He turns his head after each letter. Then when he says Marines he centers his head towads the middle of the crowd. Last edited by FreeVerse : 06-08-2007 at 06:19 AM. |
