Modern Hypnosis in Pickup

When I think of hypnosis, I usually get images of a guy on stage, making members of the audience fall asleep and do silly things.

Or I'll think of long patterns with embedded commands and complicated anchoring.

I'm much too lazy for that stuff.

But here's what's interesting about it:

About a year ago, I had a very significant realization about pick-up.

I realized that the success and speed of a pick-up always came down to two main factors, unconditionally:

1. Compliance
2. Sexual State

Simply put, if I could get a girl complying with my leadership, and I went into sexual state, then my job was done.
Let's look at these in a bit more detail.

Compliance:

Compliance means: The act of conforming, acquiescing, or yielding.

In other words, whenever you get a girl following your lead, and conforming to your requests, you have her compliance.

It makes you dominant. It makes her submissive. It makes her suggestible.

In other words she'll be more open to following your lead, both physically and emotionally.

That's where sexual state comes in quite nicely.

Sexual State:

Sexual state is a controlled but powerful arousal within yourself that is projected through your body language, vocal tonality and eye contact.

This is powerful because when two people are together, the submissive person takes on the emotional state of the dominant one.

I think you can see how it's useful to have a girl in an aroused state when she's with you...

So this is what I was basically doing - getting a woman's compliance, meanwhile conjuring up an aroused state. That simple. Worked every time.

I thought I was the only one who knew this. Then I found this, taken from Martin S. Taylor's website (Martin S. Taylor is a famous stage hypnotist and magician. He taught mentalist Derren Brown):

"Recently psychologists have dramatically revised their ideas about how hypnosis works, and the modern theory is that of social compliance. Broadly, this means that there is no altered state when you are hypnotised – no trance, no sleep, and nothing mysterious at all. Hypnosis simply works because the subjects believe it will.
On stage, it works through the hypnotist's skill in combining three factors:

• Suggestion: when we are told to feel something, there is a strong subconscious force which makes us really feel it.
• Social pressure: people want to behave the way their friends are behaving; if their friends appear to be under a hypnotist’s power, they will want to act the same way.
• Simple obedience: people will generally do as they are told, especially by someone in authority."

Now as you can imagine, I was completely blown away when I read that -

All of the conclusions I had come to on my own through pick-up were independently confirmed.

Looking at it from this perspective, pick-up as I had come to understand it, is basically hypnosis.

Through getting a woman to comply with your leadership, she is also complying with your emotional state.

It is of course up to you to have that under control...
